The Grants & Trusts Fundraiser will take ownership of Vault’s trusts and grants fundraising activity, identifying new opportunities and securing income from charitable trusts, foundations and grant giving organisations.

Working closely with the Head of Fundraising & Communications and colleagues across Vault, the postholder will develop compelling funding applications, manage a strong funding pipeline, build relationships with funders and ensure successful awards are appropriately managed and reported.

The role will have an minimum income generation target of £150,000, representing a minimum 8:1 return on the investment in the post.

This is an autonomous role suited to an experienced fundraiser who can identify opportunities, develop strong relationships and deliver results with minimal supervision.

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE

Income Generation

• Deliver an annual trusts and grants income target of £150,000+

• Develop and deliver the trusts and grants element of Vault’s fundraising strategy

• Research and identify new funding opportunities aligned with Vault’s work and strategic priorities

• Maintain a strong and forward looking funding pipeline

• Develop and submit high quality, compelling and persuasive funding applications

• Identify opportunities for multi year, unrestricted and strategic funding

• Maximise opportunities with existing funders and develop relationships that encourage repeat and increased support

Funder Research and Relationships

• Undertake effective research and horizon scanning to identify potential funders

• Build and maintain positive relationships with current and prospective funders through email, telephone and face to face engagement

• Develop a strong understanding of funder priorities, criteria and decision making processes

• Maintain accurate and up to date records of funder relationships, opportunities and applications.

Bid Development and Impact

• Work with colleagues across Vault to understand programme needs, outcomes and impact

• Translate programme information, data and young people’s experiences into compelling funding cases

• Develop appropriate project budgets in partnership with Finance

• Ensure applications clearly demonstrate need, impact, value for money and alignment with funder priorities

• Use data and evidence effectively to strengthen applications and demonstrate the impact of Vault’s work

Grant Management and Reporting

• Maintain oversight of successful grant requirements, including reporting deadlines and funding conditions

• Work with relevant colleagues to ensure funder reporting requirements are met

• Support effective stewardship and acknowledgement of funders

• Maintain accurate records of applications, awards, income and reporting requirements

• Provide regular updates and performance reports to the Head of Fundraising & Communications

General Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively across Vault to support the organisation’s fundraising objectives

• Ensure all fundraising activity complies with relevant legislation, regulations and the Fundraising Regulator’s Code of Fundraising Practice

• Work within Vault’s policies and procedures, with particular regard to safeguarding, health and safety and data protection

• Contribute to a positive, inclusive and collaborative working environment

• Carry out other reasonable duties as required by the Head of Fundraising & Communications

WHAT IS THE ROLE?

As a Catering Assistant at Vault Youth Zone, you’ll be at the heart of creating a warm, welcoming space for young people. You’ll play a key role in our vibrant café — cooking up tasty, healthy dishes for just £1 and serving them with a smile, making sure every young person feels at home. It’s about more than just food; it’s about being a friendly face, offering support, and helping to create a space where young people can relax, connect, and thrive.

WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

• Prepare and serve a range of hot and cold food and drinks for young people, staff, volunteers and visitors.
• Follow recipes, portion sizes and presentation standards to ensure food is consistent and of good quality.
• Maintain high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and personal hygiene at all times.
• Follow all food safety procedures, including temperature checks, cleaning schedules, stock rotation and safe food storage.
• Follow allergen procedures, ensuring allergen information is accurate and communicated appropriately.
• Ensure food is prepared and served safely to meet the needs of young people with dietary requirements.
• Operate catering equipment safely and report any faults or hazards immediately.
• Keep the kitchen, café and food service areas clean, tidy and organised throughout each shift.
• Complete cleaning duties, including equipment, preparation areas, floors and other kitchen surfaces.
• Check deliveries and stock, ensuring food is stored correctly and stock is rotated using FIFO (first in, first out).
• Monitor stock levels and report any items that need ordering or replacing.
• Minimise food waste and help maintain good value and portion control.
• Provide friendly, welcoming and professional customer service to young people, staff, parents, visitors and other customers
• Support the wider Youth Zone team with events, activities and special catering requirements.
• Work effectively as part of the catering team and support colleagues during busy periods.
• Follow Vault Youth Zone’s policies and procedures, including health and safety, food safety and safeguarding.
• Help create a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for all young people using the Youth Zone.
• Remain alert to any concerns about a young person’s welfare, behaviour or safety.
• Report any safeguarding concerns immediately to the appropriate member of staff in line with Youth Zone procedures.
• Handle cash and cashing up following the correct procedure.
