GENERAL
Can I become a member? – Membership is open to all young people aged from 8 to 19 years old, or 25 years with additional needs.
What do I need on my first visit? – A smile, and be prepared to have lots of fun. Don’t forget to wear casual clothing, all equipment for activities is included in your 50p.
How much does it cost – An annual membership at Vault costs just £5 then its only 50p each visit.
Do I need to register before attending? – Yes. A parent/carer must sign up the young person for membership before attending. Once registered, they can attend sessions regularly.
Can young people just turn up? – Yes, no need to book! (aside from some of our Vault:Unlocked sessions.
Can you get food at Vault? – Yes, we serve hot, nutritious meals for just £1 on each session.
What activities are available at Vault? – Young people can access 20+ activities per session, which may include:
- Sports (e.g. football, boxing, climbing)
- Creative arts (art, drama, music)
- Social and chill-out spaces
- Skills-based activities (e.g. cooking, enterprise)
Activities are designed to help young people grow, create, connect and try new things.
Are the sessions supervised? – Yes. Sessions are run by trained youth workers who support activities and provide guidance, mentoring, and a safe environment.
Are sessions inclusive? – Yes. Vault Youth Zone is open to all young people from all backgrounds and abilities, with additional dedicated Vault:Unlocked sessions for those with SEND (special educational needs and disabilities).
Will there be support for my child beyond activities?Yes. Youth workers are there not only to run activities but also to provide support, guidance, and mentorship to help young people develop socially and emotionally.

Where can I park? – At the moment the best place to park is in Preston Bus Station Car Park – Multi-storey car park with 600 spaces, open 24 hours, pay-and-display, and cashless options via RingGo and walk over to Vault Youth Zone (we are located directly opposite the Bus Station)
There are a few other options in the centre of Preston too:
Fishergate Shopping Centre Car Park – Large 780-space car park with cashless payment, 24/7 access, and dedicated spaces for families and disabled visitors
Avenham Street Car Park – Surface car park with 200 spaces, pay-on-departure, and accessible parking
Trinity Square Car Park – Located at 137 Market St W, PR1 2HB, suitable for short stays with pay-and-display options
JUNIORS
What are Junior Sessions at Vault Youth Zone?
Junior Sessions are dedicated sessions for younger members, offering a safe, fun space to socialise, try new activities, and build confidence with support from trained youth workers.
What age group are Junior Sessions for?
Junior Sessions are for young people aged 8 years to Year 6.
When do Junior Sessions take place?
Mondays 4-8pm
Thursdays 4-8pm
Saturdays 11am-3pm
Can parents stay during sessions?
Junior Sessions are drop-off sessions, helping young people build independence, but parents can contact staff if needed.
Can Juniors bring their phones?
Yes, however we do ask them to hand the in for safe keeping at reception. Junior members can access their phones whenever they ask, but to prevent loss we look after them at reception.
SENIORS
What are Senior Sessions at Vault Youth Zone? – Senior Sessions are dedicated sessions for our older members, offering a safe, fun space to socialise, try new activities, and build confidence with support from trained youth workers.
What age group are Senior Sessions for? – Senior Sessions are for young people aged Year 7 to 19 years (or 25 with additional needs).
When do Senior Sessions take place? – Tuesdays 5pm – 9pm, Fridays 5pm – 9pm & Saturdays 5pm – 9pm
PARTNERSHIPS NIGHT
What is Partnerships Night at Vault Youth Zone? – Partnerships Night is an initiative at Vault Youth Zone to bring together local organisations, charities and community groups to deliver life-changing opportunities for young people across Preston.
Taking place weekly, Partnerships Night will see external partners welcomed into the Youth Zone’s state-of-the-art facility in the heart of the city, creating a central hub for high-quality youth provision. The initiative is designed to make services more accessible, collaborative and impactful for young people aged 8–19 (and up to 25 for those with additional needs).
What age group are Partnership Night for? – Partnerships Night is for young people aged 8 to 19 years (or 25 with additional needs).
When does Partnership Night take place? – Wednesdays 5pm – 9pm
VAULT:UNLOCKED
What is Vault:Unlocked? – Vault:Unlocked is our designated SEND session. All of Vault’s sessions will be inclusive but our specific inclusion sessions will be dedicated to supporting young people with disabilities and additional to access a range of activities, for example boxing, trampolining, karaoke, arts and crafts, cooking, gaming and much more. Sessions will be adapted for young people with additional needs to enable anyone to access them; including young people with a variety of different needs from mild learning difficulties to more complex needs such as visual impairment and physical disabilities.
What age group is Vault:Unlocked for? – Vault:Unlocked is for young people aged 8 to 25.
When does Vault:Unlocked take place? – Sundays 11am – 2pm

GIRLS ONLY SESSIONS
What are Girls Only Sessions? – Girls Only Sessions are our designated female only sessions. During these sessions we will operate with female staff, there will be no men in the building.
What age group are Girls Only Sessions for? – Girls Only Sessions are for our Senior members aged Year 7 to 19, or 25 with additional needs.
When do Girls Only sessions take place? – Sundays 2.30pm – 5.30pm
Do I need to book? – No, members can just turn up for these sessions.
